Acrylic resin is a general term for polymers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and their derivatives. Acrylic resin coating is a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin coating or acrylic radiation coating made of (meth) acrylate and styrene as the main body and acrylic resin obtained by copolymerization with other acrylates.
Thermoplastic acrylic resin does not undergo further cross-linking during the film-forming process, so its relative molecular weight is large, and it has good gloss and color retention, water resistance and chemical resistance, fast drying, convenient construction, easy construction, recoating and rework, and good whiteness and positioning of aluminum powder when preparing aluminum powder paint. Thermoplastic acrylic resin is widely used in automobiles, electrical appliances, machinery, construction and other fields.
Thermosetting acrylic resin refers to a resin with certain functional groups in its structure. When making paint, it reacts with the functional groups in the added amino resin, epoxy resin, polyurethane, etc. to form a network structure. Thermosetting resin generally has a low relative molecular weight. Thermosetting acrylic coating has excellent fullness, gloss, hardness, solvent resistance, weather resistance, and does not change color or turn yellow when baked at high temperature. The most important application is to combine it with amino resin to make amino-acrylic paint, which is widely used in products such as automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, and coiled steel.
